American Legion Park is a favorite haunt of fishing enthusiasts as it offers excellent fishing with plenty of trees for cover. Buffalo Run Park is another popular city park with features that include 1.9 miles of hike and bike trails, a playground, fishing piers, and a sand volleyball court.
The local Recreation and Tennis Center offers residents and tourists a gymnasium, tennis courts, batting cages, and a cardio and weight room. Perfect for the longtime or aspiring fitness buff.

One of Missouri City’s event highlights is its annual Snowfest Festival, which often includes a tree-lighting ceremony, an exclusive Kid’s Village, and camel rides. Everybody is encouraged to bring an unwrapped present for the police department’s Blue Santa Toy Drive.
Most schools in Houston are served by the Fort Bend Independent School District, while Houston Independent School District serves the subdivisions of Colony Crossing, Fonmeadow, and Fondren Park that are located within Missouri City’s boundaries. The Houston Community College also calls Missouri City home.
